Endymion rolls on the Saturday before Mardi Gras.  Endymion features a celebrity "Grand Marshall" and 8 tandem floats.  Throws include: mascot beads, doubloons, cups, lighted beads, stuffed mascot dolls, footballs and frisbees.  After parade  they hold the Endymion Extravaganza in the Superdome.

Bacchus

Bacchus rolls on the Sunday prior to Mardi Gras, known as "Bacchus Sunday".
Bacchus features a celebrity King....and several signature floats such as Bacchasaurus, King Kong, Mama Kong, and Baby Kong.  Bacchus throws include: doubloons, cups, emblem beads, medallion beads, footballs, and talking animal dolls.

Orpheus

Zulu

Zulu rolls on Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras).  Zulu's  most recognized throw is the "Zulu Coconut", others include: coconut beads, hand clappers, doubloons, cups, and spears.  King Zulu makes his arrival on Lundi gras at Woldenberg Park just off of Canal street next to the Mississippi River.

Rex

Rex, which means "KING" rolls on Fat Tuesday.  Throws include: Doubloons, cups, medallion beads, and moonpies.  Signature floats include the King's float, the Boeuf Gras, and the Jester float...some of Carnivals most photographed floats.  Rex, is also responsible for the Carnival colors of Purple (Justice), Green (Faith), and Gold (Power).

Tucks

Tucks rolls on the Saturday before Fat Tuesday.  Tucks is known for their unique throws which include: parachuting Tucks, squirting toilets, stuffed Tucks dolls, clappers, doubloons, cups, bikini's and much more.  The Tucks parade is somewhat satirical in terms of their parade and float themes.

D'etat

D'etat rolls on Friday night before Fat Tuesday.  Satirical themes rule in D'etat as does the only Carnival organization that boasts a "Dictator".  Throws include:  glow in the dark skulls, blinky beads, talking bears, doubloons and in 2002 glass beads. The Glass beads were named "Coolest Throw" from the SKTOM website.

Muses

Muses roll on the Wednesday before Fat Tuesday.  Muses is one of...if not the hottest Carnival Krewes today.  Their throws are becoming the exception to the rule, and very sought after. They include: Blinky beads, medallion shoe beads, teddy bears , stuffed Muses dolls, cups, and  doubloons. Muses ,also keeps their theme a secret until they roll.

Mid-City

Mid-City rolls on Sunday before Fat Tuesday, during the day.  Items the Krewe throws include: doubloons, cups, medallion heart beads and potato chips.  Mid-City is  the 5th oldest continuously parading organization in  New Orleans.  Mid City carries the reputation for having some of the best bands at Mardi Gras.

Morpheus

Morpheus rolls on the Tuesday before Fat Tuesday. Morpheus riders throw 64 oz. plastic fish drinking bowls, Morpheus Medallion beads, Morpheus soccer and footballs, and doubloons.  2002's parade featured 6 marching bands, 5 jazz bands and one horse unit. 2002 marked the first ride for this new Krewe.

Pontchartrain

Pontchartrain rolls 2 Saturday's before Mardi Gras.  You can expect to see local celebrities at a Pontchartrain parade, along with some great bands. Krewe members toss emblem cups.  The annual "Jeudi Gras" ball is a tradition with Pontchartrain.

Pegasus

Pegasus rolls  2 Saturday's Before Mardi Gras. Pegasus is one of a handful of parades in which neon is used on their floats.  Some of the throws you can expect to see from Pegasus include: Emblem throws, cups, plush animals, frisbees, and doubloons.
In 2002 Mario Andretti  rode as the guest grand marshal

Shangri-la

Proteus

Proteus rolls on Lundi Gras (Monday).  Proteus is the second oldest parading Krewe in New Orleans. Some of their throws are: cups, doubloons, Proteus sea horse beads.

Thoth

Hermes rolls on the Friday before Fat Tuesday, prior to Le Krewe D'etat.  Hermes tosses items such as: cups, doubloons, and stuffed animals.  Hermes floats also feature neon lighting, they were the first Parading Krewe which used neon.

Chaos rolls on the Thursday before Fat Tuesday.  Made up of former members of the defunct Krewe of Momus, they even use Momus' old floats.  They will toss: doubloons, cups, and beads.  Satirical themes should be expected from this Krewe.
